This week, Designed to Color is thrilled to bring you the beginning of our guest hosts for our Sunday Showcases! We have asked each member of our Glitter and Rainbow Crews to take on a showcase to demonstrate more ways you can you use your mediums to color, or to show cool techniques--anything that helps you have more fun coloring!
This week our guest host is Glitter Crew Senior Member Susie Moore! Wait until you see this super fabulous technique she has for you to try!

Susie here with a super fun, super easy, and super sparkly
coloring technique for you to try.
Did you know you can color on fine glitter with your Copic markers?
Well you can! And you will love doing it.
Here's a peek at the finished flower I am showing you how to make today- all sparkly and cute:
You will need just a few supplies to do this technique:
Copic Markers (I used R20, R22, Y11)
Dies of your choice
Die cutting machine of your choice
Scrap of white card stock
Now here is what you will do:
1. Choose the shape you want to die cut. (I chose a layered flower)
2. Cut a piece of card stock and adhesive sheet to fit your die. Remove one side of the backing on your adhesive sheet and apply it to your card stock.
3. Run this piece through your die cut machine. You may need to run it through twice, but it WILL cut.
4. Now remove the top piece of the adhesive backing. Your piece will be super sticky and that is exactly what you want. Dump the fine glitter onto the adhesive and burnish it in with your finger. You can also use a bone folder to burnish the glitter. You can return the unused glitter to its bottle.
The best part of this glitter is that once it is burnished, it will NOT come off.
5. Now use your Copic markers to color your die cut piece. The glitter will NOT ruin your Copic nibs. A word of warning though...once you have colored an area, don't go back. If you use too much ink, it will begin to eat away at the glitter and it will become a gooey mess. Don't ask me how I know.
You can lightly shade with your markers, just be careful to not overdue.
And that's it! You now have a beautiful sparkly handcrafted embellishment--perfectly coordinated for your project!
For the visual learners among us, here is a picture of the steps to create this flower:
To complete my card, I stacked the flowers and used a brad to connect them all. I layered my card base with papers and elements from Samantha Walker's new collection called Cool Summer.
I hope you will try this technique. It is a bit addicting, so be warned! Have fun with it!
